so, NOLA's SECRET stems from my husband Derek being a native to New Orleans LA...hence "NOLA" for those of you who aren't to quick :)
We actually met because of Katrina. He moved up here the day before it hit. Without that horrible disaster, we might have never been together. He has been a chef ever since he starting cooking at the age of 7, it just came natural to him. He's had experience cooking in many different restaurants down there, in the movie business, and even having his own catering company.
I sound like I'm writing a resume here :) But everything he worked so hard for was taken in that storm. That's why we are starting this blog...
NOLA's SECRET... to share the life of a cajun chef and some of his favorite recipes. New Orleans, is a world of it's own, and anyone who's been there can testify.
